Last weekend I went to Sedim, the place which currently under facelift construction, which until I can’t recognized that was the place where I went 2 years ago when we went for Gunung Bintang expedition ( see photos at Gunung Bintang album ). The place currently is under construction, to widen the access road to waterfall area, which a truly sign of commercialization of this place, including a newly completed dormitory. As usual, when it comes to development of recreational area, I always have a mix feeling how the place either should be, or shouldn’t be developed. But the bottomline, in any development, you have to sacrifice at certain degree the environment , but the quandry is, on how to juggle between the benefits and losses in terms of the needs to sacrifice the environment as, this would really need to be involving discussing of various expert parties during the planning stage, as if you let the politician to decide on this critical decision, you totally can be rest assured the money come first and the environment would be the last !. I had witnessing a lot of these type of incidents happened, namely at Sipadan Island, Redang etc..etc….. and Sedim, in Kedah, I would think one of not so many surviving respectable white water spots in Malaysia ( after Kuala Kubu Baru almost gone due to construction of Kuala Kubu Dam ) which still have various accessible grade 5 rapids. I just hoping, for Sedim, although the development is on going over there, please respect the environment, while the good intention to develop Sedim won’t come into waste in the future…… See Kuala Kubu..., see Tioman, you know what I mean……

For the trip…you can’t say anything else… it was FUN !!!!
