KEM CINTA KELIMAT ???? KAT MANA TU ??? That was the first question popped out whenever I mentioned to my friends, even a hardcore outdoor person who I thought know every single acre in Malaysia if you talk about outdoor spots in Malaysia. Well, this was the latest outing I went during the last weekend organized by one travel magazine in Malaysia…. a relatively popular in its own niche named ‘Libur’. Incidentally, a good friend of mine, Su, which a reporter of Libur, invite me to join her trip, although I’m considered an outsider, neither I’m a member Kelab Pembaca Libur nor I’m a regular subscriber of Libur…but sometimes I read Libur depending on issues highlighted on that respective month which some may interest me….but looks I have to change my mind now !!.. So without much hesitates, I said YES ! as the main reason, I never been to Cinta kelimat Camp, and it always good to explore the new place, although I’m no new in that area, especially for almost every year so far especially for the past 5 years, without failed, at least I’ll be at Intan Suraya Camp, to organize some outdoor camps especially for school kids and youth group, which is situated not far from Cinta Kelimat Camp…..sorry…I didn’t yet mentioned where is this camp located. Well, basically it is located in Sungai Siput area, which previously stronghold of our ‘legendary work minister’ Mr Samy Vellu, or ‘Mr Toll. It is located exactly in the heart of Kg Kelimat and I guess this how Cinta Kelimat name come from. While Kem Intan Suraya is located about 15km from this camp, although it is an older camp, and more established, but now, facing fierce competition from this new Cinta Kelimat camp, which an only 2 years old camp and this explained, why most of the facilities are still brand new. So as the offer is too good to be refused, I really need to juggle my schedule of trying to be there, although I had another conflicting schedule during that weekend at MCKK, which at the same time, I’m running for the fitness program for the mighty duck program, which I had accepted previously before this invitation came ha..ha..ha… So a result, I had to skip, the night orienteering session at Cinta Kelimat, and running to MCKK to run the indoor fitness session, and run back to Cinta Kelimat and arrive there at mid-night where the guard already locked the gate at the suspended bridge….hampes … !
BTW, we had a great session, at Cinta Kelimat, where the first day was, scavenger hunt, and team exercise, and I was in Kambing Gurun’s team which a very jovial team…. Asyik gelak mcm nak pecah perut. But the highlight of the session of course the tubing rafting part, where, using the backhoe tires tubes, I guess, we use that as our raft, tie-up with bamboos. The starting point was around Sungai Klah adventure center, which about 2 ½ hours away by river cruising Sungai Perlus using this self made raft. ( Although by road, less than ½ hour ! ). The self made raft, although could be questionable in terms of safety, as proven, where at the end of our 2 hours journey almost all loosen up, and I can bet if we were to proceed for another two hours, 8 of us on this raft, will drifting apart only holding the tubes and the loosen bamboos ha..ha…ha…. ! See some photos !
