About me ?? I can't describe who I'm but I guess I was accidently involved in these adventurous thingy almost 15 years ago when one of my good friend asked me to accompany him to Gunung Tebu back in 1992, so reluctantly I went and that was the kick off of disastrous year where I pick-up climbing, trekking, back packing non-stop until now. I was actively involved in those early days of Rakan Muda ( a government sponsored national level youth developement program ) programs as participants, instructor and also trainer. My last post, in Rakan Muda, I was a state trainer/instructor for Rakan Rekreasi/Cinta Alam.... But for some reason, after a while, I distance my self from this group to pursue my own directions in recreation and adventures. I still considered myself as novice in this field as I keep learning on recreation especially from younger generations of climbers. Having completed the G7 + 2 feat ( those in Malaysia involved in mountains climbing must know this terms...well you considered 'graduated' if you managed to climb all the G7 mountains in Malaysia...and add another 2.... for perhaps a Master Degree...ha..ha... ) ..but I still think there are a lot of things to be learned outside there and that's the reason why I start to do some various different adventure stuffs as well. As a co-founder for at one time a prominent recreation group in one of public university, namely RDAG ( an independent NGO group which still active till now ) , and HIJAU ( a college sponsored club ), I continued my passion in recreation in my own belief, principles and targets...... but the bottomline, I strongly believes dakwah and recreation should come in a package and can't be separated...tak dapat dipisahkan bagai isi dengan kuku.... so I'm totally against 'hu..ha..hu..ha..' recreation approaches which I've seen a lot from day one I trapped into this recreation world ! Being a seasoned ( an excuse phrase to avoid saying tua...ha...ha... ) climber and had joined more than hundreds recreation trips/expeditions locally and overseas etc, I saw a lot of a 'dark side' of some people approached recreation. The botomline, kita hamba Allah, so what we do on this world, will be answerable di alam baqa. Peringatan utk diri aku sendiri, hidup kita tak lama...... so beringatlah sebelum mati, dan rekreasi adalah salah satu usaha kita untuk berdakwah sesama kita, dan mendekatkan diri kita lagi dengan pencipta kita...in anyhow..gunung, sungai, laut yg kita duk pi..siapa yang yang cipta ??? .
Last but not least..who I am ? well in cyber world I identified my self as Dugong as I always fascinated with this unique endangered mammals, which often associated with mermaids folk tale. But in real, I've call as Wan by some, Mang by mainly my Uni friends and Wong exclusively by my friend while I was in MCKK..for some reason........
